Rapid Re - Entry points
« on: July 15, 2010, 08:03:23 PM »
I have tried a bunch of configurations to get the bot to come off the wire and head home, but i cant seem to get it to work.
Any ideas to help me out?
I have tried an equalateral triangle like the manual states, i have tried making the angle sharper, but the Bot continually makes the turn back to follow the perimeter. ( even 180degrees!)
BTW i have a Lawnbott 2150 (brand new)
Any ideas to get the bot back to the house faster once he starts running low on battery.
Thanks

Search the forum for Rapid Return.  There is a post that has different dimensions than the manual, but it's been reported the dimensions work reliably.  I haven't tried them myself.

Ya i tried the 28.5" x 21" x 26" triangle....same result, the smart bot simply makes a really tight turn and follows the wire back.
Darn thing is smarter than i am.

The wire has to be straight for a long distance before and after the rapid return.  If you have curves leading up to or after the triangle it won't work.
