3510 bluetooth
« on: June 04, 2010, 11:57:32 AM »
In the manual for 3510 it states that you can use a bluetooth to control the unit. I am old and don't know what that is to be honest. I have some sort of Blackberry, is that bluetooth? The manual is not real clear on how to proceed even if you do have such an item. Has anyone done this? And, why would you? What can you do with it once you have it working?

Yes your Blackberry has Bluetooth but the Bluetooth feature on the mower does not work with cell phones in America because of the cell phone companies restrictions. But if you live in Europe you can steer the Lawnbott with your cell phone and I am pretty sure you can change the mowing schedule to. I could care less about controlling my mower with a cell phone but it would be really nice to be able to adjust the mowing schedule from inside your house with a cell phone. Also they are supposed to come out with a Bluetooth remote but that has not happened yet.

I also have been trying to get the remote working.  I thought I might have a chance since my phone is a non-branded/unlocked Moto U9.  I was able to get a successful Bluetooth pair between the robot and my phone, when prompted for a passkey on the initial pairing I used the security code I had set in the robot’s security set-up.

I would like to hear about others experiences reading the older forums I didn’t see where anyone got this far with a US phone but now I am stuck.

When I run the “remote” software on my phone I get a screen showing the robot as an option when I hit OK.
I get another screen with four arrows (up, down, Left, right) on the top right of the screen it says Check ID.
After a while it will go to a gray screen with the message "ID non valido".  I assume this is “ID not valid”

My understanding is during the initial pairing the robot should have recorded my phones ID and be using that for future validation because after the initial pairing I don’t get a request for the passkey.  Any one know if this correct?

Thanks, Daniel

Daniel, once your phone is paired with the robot you won't have to pair it again.  That is how Bluetooth works.
