robot dies

i have professional; with lithium battery; after mowing for 90 minutes it stops dead on the lawn .... no matter what i push on the blank screen, nothing works. i have to bring it back to the charging station & then i can program again.. it dies at 2600 &  charges to 2900, then mows for 90 minutes..  i have new charger, but something seems to stop battery from getting full charge.. i cleaned the plates, dome nuts, etc.. any suggestions???

In the mean time I would reset the run time to 85 minutes, 80 minutes, etc. until it stopped dying.  I believe 2600 and 2900 are about the limits.  I can't remember my Jr. ever charging into the 3000 range.  Could it be that the grass is high causing the motor to lug down all of the time?  Maybe you need to pre-mow the lawn then let the bott maintain the lawn.  Not answers to your problems but something to think about.

 in some places the grass, dandelions are high; but wouldnt it return automatically when it needed a charge?  it used to start charge at 2400, then leave to cut at 2800+ with lithium battery, mow 2 hours & go back to charger.. is there a way to test the battery?

I agree, it should go back at the recharge value.  Unless the stop and recharge values are set to the same number.  Try contacting this person if RobotLady can't come up with a solution: vishal@kyodoamerica.com  If he is no longer there maybe someone else at that site can help you.

Have you watched it pull into the base?  Just dotting i's and crossing t's, but if something keeps it from going into the base, it will die eventually.

Other things that can affect mowing time are wheels clogged with grass.  Friction due to not greasing the wheel hubs could cause the motors to draw too much current from the battery.  That could cause a shut-down, too.  Check our Winter Service instructions to learn how to grease the wheels.

I'm sure you already checked for loose connections but a loose connection on the power could cause it, too.
