New Season (#8) Starts Today
« on: April 19, 2014, 07:36:16 AM »
Would you believe this is the beginning of my 8th year of NOT mowing the grass?  (except for between the road and the front fence)  Loving it!!!

Up date:  Junior just finished mowing the front lawn.  He did a fairly nice job only missing one or two spots.  I'll have to have a man to man talk with him about that later this evening.  Our two wild rabbits didn't like him running around but after a while they gave up and just let him do his thing.

How many years does this make for you?

I'm more like weeks!  ;) But so far my 3510 appears to be reaching all corners of my lot - but it's still early and the grass is just starting to really wake up.  But I'm confident he'll continue to impress us.

We've had ours since 2007.  We've been slow to get him out this year because we had a lot of landscaping work done.  The new grass is not growing yet, so I think we will be working on getting back to full automation for awhile...

Our new patio has blocked off one of our mowing areas so we will make a path through the woods so the robot can drive from zone to zone.  The path will probably be about 75 feet long.  We have a lot of brush to clear to make way for the robot.

I am looking forward to getting our little guy going again!  Plus we want to tinker with the new LB85EL.  He's supposed to be much better on hills, and we have **a lot** of hills.

I often wonder why anyone wants to stick with the traditional method after visiting our forum and finding so many happy customers.  Wierd.   :-\

This will be my 7th year :).  I am actually moving to a new house so I am robot-less right now since I had to remove all the wire.  My move is scheduled for next week so one of my first tasks will be to set up the perimeter wire and get him going again.

4TH Season for my Bubba.

I bought/set him up when we moved to this house, and i never have even owned another mower.
I did the final grade at this house, 14 dump trucks of top soil and then 22 pallets of new sod. Bubba started on this fresh sod days after it was layed....ah the memories :)
I do the edging once or twice a week and Bubba does the rest. (just over 1/2 acre btw)
I cant even begin to add up the time he has saved me over the years, but he is slowly becoming my best investment ever!
And that doesnt even include the wow factor of having a robot cutting your grass.

I just added a complete second perimeter wire because some of his ruts were getting bad enough to get him stuck. This way I can move his path over and fill in/repair the ruts. I will now always have the option of switching back and forth between the two travel paths.
