tread marks along perimeter wire
« on: September 23, 2013, 11:28:43 AM »
So, I've decided to keep my mower - letting it do the flat areas of the yard while I push/walk behind the Honda manual.
What I have always found not so satisfying is the worn out path that the bot makes along the perimeter wire - any one know of a fix for this? --- no, i'm not into repositioning the wire.

Try and use the re entry triangles to have the bot avoid the bad spots....

communicated with RobotLady since posting and have ordered a usb to serial connector - my serial to serial is still around but my laptops that i brought out of the closet takes about half and hour to start up and still too slow to work - apparently with the new firmware there's the option of hopping along the perimeter wire - hopefully less wear and tear.

Thanks for ordering the cable from us.  In case anyone else wants one, the cable is $22.99 (free shipping) anywhere in the Continental US.  Shipping is extra elsewhere.  We tried a different cable in the past and it didn't work.  This one is very reliable and works with Windows 7.  We'll help you get the drivers for other machines if you need them.

The LB35XX software has improved a lot.  There is a new feature called "bounce on wire" that has the robot make arcs on its way back to the base.  This prevents the tracks in the lawn but it takes longer for the robot to get back.  You also have to change the installation.  Our "Professional Installation Guide" (for sale on our site in Lawnbott accessories) tells you how to make the changes.  We have not tried it ourselves yet so we would love anyone's feedback for how well it works.

Another new feature we like is the ability to set a zone at 10%.  This is especially important if some zones are smaller and the yard is very big.  Now the robot won't waste a lot of time in a small area.

For those of you who don't have the LB35XX robot but really want these features, there is a sale going on right now.  There are only a few days left.  Buy it from our site because you can get 6 months free financing via PayPal Bill Me Later.  I have requested an extension to the sale but I don't know if that will happen.  The last day is Monday, Sept. 30.

Is there a software upgrade for the 21xx series robot, to get the similar bounce feature?
Where do you download software from?
Thanks

Hi, unfortunately the bounce on wire feature is not available for any model but the LB35XX series.

As for software updating, you can get the latest version of the updater from your dealer.  If your dealer is no longer in business, I would be happy to help you - just send an email to info@paradiserobotics.com
