I agree that the new software is astounding. It mows so much more efficiently now because of the very wide circles. It also comes off the wire in a better way. The new mowing algorithm is also in the Lawnbott LB3210/LB3250.
We have been looking for a good USB to serial cable so people can upgrade on their own (I know many of you already are doing that.) If you have a serial port on your computer (9 pin DIN) you can start now. If not, and you only have USB, please wait for our cable, don't try it yourself and don't trust other dealers. We obtained one cable so far and it turned out it had a counterfeit chip that rendered the motherboard useless. We got totally lucky and were able to get it to recover, but this would not be guaranteed in all cases. The last thing you want to do is destroy your robot's motherboard during a software upgrade.
There are lots of cables out there, but we want to get one for you at a good price and also test one of the type we pick to minimize problems. Many of the cables require drivers to be loaded on the computer so we are also trying to find one that is the least painful (covers the most computers, etc.). Thanks for your patience!
