E03 Blade motor error
« on: August 13, 2011, 10:55:17 AM »
Hey guys...
Is this a common error for when new brushes are needed?
Is there a way to tell that just the brushes need replacing and that it isnt anything bigger? Like the entire motor is shot?
Thanks

I turned bubba off then on and he seems to run again, i assume that the error will continue until the motor is fixed... Anyone have instructions on changing out the brushes?
Also i did a blade motor test and it seemed to get up to full speed and hold there(19 i think it was)
Ay help would be apreciatted..
Also how long is warranty on motors?
Thanks

Edit..

I tried to run him tonight, he came out as normal, herked and jerked his way around the yard until i got tired of watching, so i sent him back to the base, then i paused him until i can find a resolution.
Replace Brushes or entire motor?
I will call kyodo & paradise on monday morning...

You can find instructions on replacing the brushes for a 3200 at http://lawnbott.jzdocs.com/doku.php?id=maint:evolution#blade_motor_brush_replacement.

Was there a reason to choose a new motor vs new brushes?  Or, were brushes not the issue?

KUDOS for Kyodo.  Although I have had plenty of problems with my Bott, I have found them to step up to do ever thing possible to make me, as they have for you, a happy customer. I do know that they are pressuring Zucchetti to improve the QUALITY of the Bott.

Ya i have zero complaints about the guys there....while the warranty is still in place. I am slightly crapping my pants about post warranty issues, and the cost of replacing some of these parts... Everything seems to be hundreds here, hundreds there, it can add up fast!!

They are going the route of hearing aides manufactures.  Sell less units make more money with high prices.  One day they will wonder why China came along and took their business away from them.  Note, I did not say the US as we are sinking faster than the Titanic.

Well, not only that, but without any labor laws, how can anyone compete with China?

I too have been very pleased with the guys at Kyodo - but I also worry for next year when my motors are out of warranty.

Winter is a great time to do service on the motors.  Although we have not tried it ourselves, I've heard from customers it is easy to change the wheel motor brushes (the brushes are cheap, too).  The blade motor, as you know, is a bit more complicated.  I expect our motor refurbishing service will be available over the winter; you can consider this as well.
