e01 motor error
« on: October 24, 2014, 09:53:04 AM »
Hey guys,
I was putting away Bubba for the winter, cleaning him, blade sharpening, checking the motor brushes etc and after I had him all prepped i started him up and got an E01 Right motor error.
I then started him in test mode, and both the motors seem to function normally (both ramp up in speed, forward and reverse) but the run status of the right motor does not register. It stays at "0" on the display as the the left motor number increases as the speed is turned up.
I tried checking the wiring from motherboard to motor, and it seems fine, nothing loose or broken.
The robot was running fine before i starting my winter prep.
Does the motor typically run in test mode, if the motor actually needs replacing?
Is this a possible motherboard problem, not reading the run status and therefore assuming the motor is not running?
Any thoughts as to what i may have done?
Or any ideas as to how and what to troubleshoot?
Thanks in advance

Since you were messing with the motor brushes that is the first place I would look.  A wire could have slipped off or you messed something up.....  Don't assume anything is correct.....

Some pictures were sent to us from RadJack and it appear the hall effect sensor was bent over during the brush change.  The sensor detects the speed, so it makes sense this would be the cause of the problem.

RadJack has an old style of wheel motor that has exposed parts.  Newer motors are sealed, so this problem would not occur on a newer LawnBott.

As Robot Lady stated....she found the issue for me!
Simple problem thankfully, and an easier fix.
Thanks again Robot Lady.
