Title: Battery life LB3250
Post by: moti on May 04, 2015, 04:35:56 PM
moti's just getting started for the season - and I notice his work time is very short (maybe less than one hour). The two batteries were giving me about 4+ hours of work time last year. I did use the winterized trickle charge during the off-season.

I'm willing to rationalize that the first few weeks of mowing are tougher, and moti works harder until he gets the grass down to a manageable height... and I did mow separately so that everything as short enough... but I'm worried that the batteries are waning. I've had one for 3 years, and the other for 1.5 years. The charge cycle count is at 790.

Does anyone have thoughts on how long these batteries will last? How many seasons, charge cycles, etc? Is there any statistic logged for the batteries?

We're hearing the battery life is really good from our customers; it's been anywhere from 3 years (rare cases) to 7 years and counting (best case).   Most customers get a good solid 4-5 years.

Your assessment that it works harder in spring is also correct.  Let it go for awhile and see if the mowing time increases.

We recommend charging only once per month over the winter.  Leaving it on the charger might not be best.  If you don't want to do it once per month, you can charge it fully and disconnect it, but then be really careful in the Spring when you connect it back up.

Hope this helps!
